A zombie couple video is a short AI-generated clip that gives two partners a theatrical zombie transformation. Afterlove accepts either one photo showing both people or two separate portraits, and uses Kie’s Seedance 2.5 video model using prepared photo references.
1. Choose the right photos
For a couple photo, use a sharp image with exactly two clearly visible faces. Keep both people at a similar distance from the camera. Avoid sunglasses, face coverings, large crowds and deep shadows. A waist-up shot leaves room for movement while preserving enough facial detail.
For separate portraits, upload one person in each slot. Similar lighting and camera angles help the model place the people together. The photos do not need to share a background. This mode asks the model to create a new scene containing both reference identities; it does not simply paste the two photos together.
Use JPEG, PNG or WebP files up to 10 MB. Each side must be at least 300 pixels. The browser resizes images to a maximum of 1600 pixels and converts them to JPEG before sending them. Avoid very narrow panoramas: supported proportions range from 0.4 to 2.5.
Only upload photographs you have the right to use, with permission from both people. Do not use the tool to impersonate someone or present an AI scene as a real event.
2. Preview the story mood
The three first-screen films are supplied Wondershare references, not Afterlove-generated results. The separately labeled 30-second 1080p demo was generated through Seedance 2.5 using fictional adults. Neither guarantees your output.
The composer uses a prepared cinematic prompt, with no style selector. A 30-second story includes a cold reunion, a warm memory and a final embrace; shorter clips use a simpler cinematic zombie transformation direction.
3. Set the length and format
Choose 5 or 10 seconds for a short transformation, or 30 seconds for a cinematic love story with a cold present, a warm memory and an embrace. Select 720p or 1080p. Use 9:16 for a vertical social post, 16:9 for a landscape composition, or 1:1 for a square post. Audio generation is optional. Output is an MP4 video.
Start with a 5-second, 720p clip to evaluate the reference photos. Longer and higher-resolution requests can cost more. Afterlove is currently an invitation-only beta: it has no public checkout or advertised free generation allowance. API availability and provider account capacity determine whether the generation button can submit a job.
4. Submit and follow the task
Confirm permission and enter a valid creator invitation when generation is available. The server uploads the prepared images to Kie and passes one or both as image references. Both uploads must succeed in separate-portrait mode before a video can be submitted.
After the references are prepared, the browser submits the video request and polls its state. Keep the tab open until submission is confirmed. Task credentials stay in this tab’s session storage so a reload in the same session can recover progress. If a submission cannot be confirmed, do not start another clip: the operator must check the provider history first to avoid a duplicate charge.
5. Review, download and remove references
Watch for identity changes, distorted hands, unexpected extra people and inconsistent makeup. AI can lose details when faces are small, occluded or turned away. Reference images improve likeness but do not guarantee an exact identity match. A clearer photograph or a shorter clip may help; every new generation is a separate request.
Open the completed MP4 link and save the result promptly. Provider-hosted download links may expire. Kie documents 14-day generated-media retention and 24-hour temporary-upload expiry. After a completed or failed task, Remove reference links clears the links stored by this site, without immediately deleting provider files. See the privacy policy for storage details.
Troubleshooting
Generation is not open yet: the preview works, but the server connection has not been enabled. Your selected photos have not been sent. Photo preparation failed: check the image and try a clearer, consented photo. The task appears stalled: refresh the status within the existing task; do not repeatedly create new jobs. Faces changed: use larger, front-facing faces with similar lighting and keep both people visible.
